An Open Letter To My Neighbors

by Joe?Pulcinella

I currently feel the need to get local for a little while and address my over-reaching local government. We're in the middle of a cell tower dispute. It was already a done deal by the time we heard about it (naturally) so I am proposing a solution to future despotic action by our elected and unelected officials.

The following is a response to an email duscussion going around my development. I am hoping to make this column a resouce for all things regarding this travesty.

I surely don't doubt that those involved do not have our best interests at heart. However, we have very little chance of changing things at this point without incurring a big lawsuit. With this said, I would like to make a suggestion that we all use our one vote to punish every incumbent in sight at every election. It does no good to try to find someone at which to point a finger. No one will ever own up to this or any other distasteful thing that the taxpayers have been asked (forced) to stomach.

Only by our willingness to fire incumbent politicians will we put them "on notice" that they are public servants and should act as such. They are not owed positions on school boards, township offices or seats in Harrisburg. Tyrannical behavior on their part should mean radical correction on ours.

This is extremely simple. If deals are being made by politicans that you dont like, you have to vote them out. If theres no one running against them, then you have to run against them. Long term entrenchment of local pols is what leads to corruption, and in the end, contempt for your money. Under the auspices of "we steal less form you than the county, state, or federal govt" they feel free to be derelict in their fiduciary duties to their citizens. If you want this to stop, purge the offices often.

You are 100 % correct Is this Capt. Joe ? If it is long time no see, your friend from Tenn

I've been called a lot of things but never captain! Good to hear that you checked out the site, though. Thanks!
