Why Zimbabwe's Government Can't Pay Its Internet Bill
by Vince?Daliessio
Because, according to BoingBoing, it hasn't got any foreign currency. It needs to pay its bills with outside providers with foreign currency because its own currency has been made worthless,?due to?President-For-Life Robert Mugabe's ruinous policy of hyperinflation.
Not sure whether our own leaders will heed this as the early warning sign it is for our?inflated economy, but we can always hope!

You'd think that when the @#$% hits the fan, it would be a wakeup call leading up to meaningful changes and in our world, you'd be correct. But to governments, failure is rewarded with largess. The US government will, for some reason we can't fathom, bail out Mugabe as though our own livlihoods hang on a precipice with our fate to be determined by what some third-rate dictator does on the other end of the world. His people will still be destitute but Robert will at least have his Internet access restored and have enough left over for a garage full of Mercedes.
More of the same dictatorial looting, followed by mercantilist "bailouts" that impoverish the citizens even more while enriching favored companies and lining the dictator's pockets...our foreign policy hasn't changed one bit since it started destroying the developing world one power plant and Mercedes-Benz limousine at a time after WWII...
