War on Symbolism...and History

Just saw this on the Lew Rockwell blog:
The swastika has for thousands of years been a symbol of good luck. It still is, in most parts of the world. Only recently did the Nazis pervert the symbol. Even in the West, before WWII, it was a lucky symbol, as shown by this American postcard from the early 1900s. Generally, it spun counterclockwise, to the left. The Nazis chose the one that spun the wrong way, to the right. Where I used to live, there is a downtown city building, built in the '30s, that has swastikas carved into it.
