National Treasure
by Joe Pulcinella
Anybody seen National Treasure with Nicholas Cage? It looked sorta like an American version of Da Vinci Code mixing history with mystery. My Libertarian Yahoo group, who are extremely critical (to a fault, sometimes), seem to like it.
I saw it as well, Paul, and I agree with your assessment. The movie was well done, if a tad far fetched. I thought that Nicolas Cage's main adversery was somewhat naive to be fooled so easily when they were down in the bottom of the shaft, he was quick to swallow the father's lantern scenario a tad too quickly. However, they did a good job infusing historical events into a somewhat possible plot based upon some of the personalities within the group of Founding Fathers. I thought Harvey Keitel did a good job, and his explanation, along with Cage's on Freemason's was pretty accurate. I enjoyed the movie!
