Fallujah 101

by Joe?Pulcinella

This is the most relevant article that anyone can read at this point in time: Fallujah 101. As a matter of fact, if kids in the US learned any amount of world history at all, they would not stand for these foreign hijinx. Just knowing a little bit of history and basic economics will put us lightyears ahead of where we are now which is at the bottom of the international educational ladder and at the top of the likely targets of extremist terrorists.

?The United States has been a major Middle Eastern power since 1933, when a group of U.S. oil companies signed an exploration deal with Saudi Arabia. The United States has been dominant in the Middle East since 1942, when American troops first landed in North Africa and Iran. American troops have not left the region since. In other words, they have been in different parts of the Middle East for 62 years.

This is true reference material and not something you're likely to see on FoxNews.

That sure explains a lot.

Yeah, if anyone has as dubious of a record of intervetionism in the Middle East, it's Britain. Tont Blair watched the 9/11 attacks and surely thought that he'd be next.

I was told the hostory of this area from a friend of mine who is from the UK, and he said what the Brits did there was unbelievably brutal, this is something Ive NEVER even heard from the media of from any history class. They basically commited genocide.

One gets the impression from the news that, except for Gulf War I and II, nary a US Army boot has been set in the Middle East since WWII. This is, of course, rubbish. Carter and Reagan intervening in Lebanon, Ford and Nixon sending covert troops into Egypt in 1972-74 (a Navy SEAL friend of mine told me about it), and so on. Give the Bushes credit for one thing - Gulf I &II are the only examples of the US Military actually marching into the Middle East in daylight, in full view of the world. Surely such candor is unintentional, and in the service of much larger untruths.

VERY interesting article. Without even pinting fingers at specific media, this is just one tiny example of how facts from today are never put into historical perspective, and the whole story is never given, regardless of what side of the issue you are on.... scary!
