War Kills American Families
by Joe?Pulcinella
Just saw this piece on CNN and it sent chills down my spine. The mother of Army Spc Robert Oliver Unruh died hours after seeing the body of her son who was killed in Iraq.
Several days after learning of his death, his mother had gone to the hospital complaining of chest pains, Hamilton said. She was feeling better the next day but saw her son's body Saturday morning and collapsed that night in her kitchen.
I got into a discussion with a FoxNews fan about the fighting in Iraq and he was convinced that it's really not that bad because Fox was able to produce smiling, happy soldiers to show on out television sets. This makes everyone happy and allows them to stop paying attention to the news actually coming from other sources. Hey, just find a source that tells you what you want to hear and then look no further.
Although his stories of happy soldiers clashed with my evidence of lowered morale, I have to ask just what right does our government have to cause grief like this to an American citizen? A grief so intense it could kill somone who may be too frail to handle it? Should this woman be considered "collateral damage?" Did she die for a greater good?
