Neocons Are Nuts

Pat Robertson, former presidential candidate, founder and head of The 700 club, and?noted evangelical leader, has finally lost it, I think. Robertson is threatening to abandon Bush and the Republicans,?and take his followers to form a new party,?over Bush's perceived wavering support of Israel's hard-line Likud Party government.?
In the middle of a hotly contested election here, Robertson risks calling undue attention to both his and the Bush Administration's unhealthy obsession with maintaining the current borders of Israel including the occupied territories. This is nuts.?If the average soft conservative starts thinking that maintaining the current situation in Israel is of such paramount importance to The White House, he will, if he thinks about it, start to question whether the Bush administration has its priorities straight. This will hurt the Republicans and the Bush Administration, possibly fatally.
Not that that's a bad thing from my perspective, but look for Pat to "come to Jesus" over this in the near future.
