Again I Ask: This Is America?

by Joe?Pulcinella

This is atrocious. I'm sure a lot of us read "Why We Cannot Win" by Al Lorentz on LewRockwell.com. Very well worth the time to re-read it. Anyway, flash forward a week or so and Lorentz is about to be tried by the most powerful force on Earth - the United States government - for being critical of the war in Iraq.

Sept. 29, 2004 | An Army Reserve staff sergeant who last week wrote a critical analysis of the United States' prospects in Iraq now faces possible disciplinary action for disloyalty and insubordination. If charges are bought and the officer is found guilty, he could face 20 years in prison. It would be the first such disloyalty prosecution since the Vietnam War.

As far as I'm concerned, Lorentz, and all other military personel, ?has a good case for fraud by the United States government. This is starting to look more like the Soviet Union every day.

In libel cases, the truth is an absolute defense. Shouldn't it be the same in this case?
