Airport Security Snags Enemy of American People
by Joe?Pulcinella
The federal "no-fly list" apparently has helped Americans by detaining Sen Ed "Ted" Kennedy. I don't think that it was intended to happen this way but it is a great illustration of how government databases fail much more than they work.
Federal air security officials said the initial error that led to scrutiny of the Massachusetts Democrat should not have happened even though they recognize that the no-fly list is imperfect. But privately they acknowledged being embarrassed that it took the senator and his staff more than three weeks to get his name removed.
At least he got removed. What are the chances of anyone with less political drag than the dear senator ever getting off that list?
